First of all this is a discontinued model according to the LG site.

We received this as a gift last Christmas. It replaced a fabulous Oppo DVD up-converter OPPO OPDV971H Digital HD-Ready Up-Converting DVD Player. (That price is nuts!)

We have watched a grand total of 4 Blu Ray movies on this LG machine over 11 months & the belt snapped. LG won't fix it even for the $69 because we have no proof of purchase. Besides, their warranty is only 90 days, & 1 year for parts

I don't have much confidence in LG's video products as a result & really cringe to think of buying another.

On a really positive note however: LG pays for shipping both ways, which is a wonderful thing.

This player does a fine job of playing DVDs and Blu-ray discs. However, it takes a very long time to start up once you turn the player on, and for some reason, in order to access the streaming content (i.e. Netflix), you must have a DVD in the player. No idea why it won't let you go straight to that without first loading a DVD. I did purchase this player on sale, so it could very well be that mine is an exception to an otherwise good player, but it is aggravating enough to mention.

I think this product is working fine and good, but design is not good and price is higher than other website and store. also, this is from south america so you can not use north america made DVD. check carefully. Blue ray play fine.
