OK, perhaps the slots are not too big, but the metal at the bottom of the slot is not wide enough to hold up items that are thin (pop tarts, sandwich thins, etc.). You have to be very careful when toasting something thin as it falls down and gets stuck. When trying to get it out, it generally gets stuck in the crumb tray/bottom of toaster. I have had to completely remove the bottom of the toaster in order to remove the now crushed food item. And, as others have stated, this toaster is huge. I have had it for 6 months or so, and am ready to throw it in the trash.

I've had this toaster for about five months. Yes the crumb trays are shallow and it takes up a lot of counter space. It also tends to dry the toast out during toasting, much more than my Cuisinart did. I lived with all that for the speed and convenience of finally having a four-slice toaster, but now the left side has slowly been fading. First it popped up faster than the right side. Then it started toasting lighter and lighter. Now I can turn it on twice as high as the right side and the toast isn't as done. And if you then put a second set of toast in there, it comes out barely toasted at all. I thought about trying to get another one as it's under warranty, but then I realized I didn't like it enough to bother. The problem is finding a replacement. Is it me, or does it seem like no one makes a really good quality toaster anymore, unless you want to spend 200 bucks?

It is a toaster.
My goodness, a toaster.
It doesn't need much analysis. I'm pretty sure it will make bread darker and drier, so I will give a 5-stay rating, sight unseen. If you disagree, remember -- it is simply a toaster. If you need something special in a toaster, you probably should have your butler or chef order what she/he/it wants.
